You are not data. You are human.
Effective August 3, 2026
This is the plain-language version, because it is the only version. My Daily Release collects as little as it possibly can, keeps it for as short a time as it can, and sells none of it. What follows is exactly what happens to the words you let go of.
Information you choose to provide
The text of your release. An email address, if you create an account. A password, stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see it. That is the whole list. No name, no username, no phone number, no profile.
If you write to us through the Help form, we receive the email address and message you send.
Information processed automatically
Standard technical information needed to run a website — things like IP address and browser type in server logs, and internal system identifiers that connect a release to the session or account that wrote it. This is used to keep the service working and to prevent abuse, not to build a picture of you.
How information is used
To show your release in the Release Ether, to count the support it receives, to let you sign in and return, to keep the community safe, and to answer you if you contact us. Nothing else.
Public releases and anonymity
Releases are public and publicly anonymous. Other people see only the text and the date. They never see your email address, and there is no profile to click through to.
Internally, a release is linked to a system identifier for the session or account that created it. This is how you can return to see how many people held space for you, and how we remove content that breaks the rules. It is not shown to anyone else.
Please do not put information in a release that you would not want read by strangers. Our Rules & Respect page asks you to leave out other people’s names for the same reason.
Release expiration and retention
Release text is removed from the public Ether and the active database after 24 hours, unless a specific release is subject to an active safety or legal hold as described below. Temporary copies may remain for a limited period in provider-managed backups before being deleted.
After a release expires, an anonymized count of the support it received remains in the active database for 72 hours so you can see it, and is then deleted.
Account information is kept while the account exists. Server logs are retained for a limited period by our infrastructure providers.
Safety and legal preservation
Releases are ordinarily deleted according to the retention periods described in this Privacy Policy. In limited circumstances, we may preserve a specific release and related records for longer when we reasonably believe preservation is necessary to address a serious safety concern, comply with legal obligations, respond to valid legal process, or preserve records that may be relevant to an investigation.
A preserved release is removed from public access and restricted internally. We preserve only the information reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose and retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary or legally required.
If an account is deleted while a specific record is subject to an active safety or legal hold, information covered by that hold may be retained until the hold expires or the applicable legal requirement ends. Other account information remains subject to our normal deletion practices.
Messages sent through the Help form
Help messages are not stored in the app database. They are delivered by email and remain in our inbox for as long as we keep them, and may appear temporarily in managed email delivery logs. If you would rather not send us your email address, you do not have to use the form.
Service providers
We use Lovable for hosting and email delivery, and Supabase for authentication, the database, and logs. These providers process information on our behalf so the service can run. We do not use any others.
Advertising and data sales
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build advertising profiles or behavioral segments. There are no ad networks or trackers in this app.
Analytics and cookies
No analytics are currently installed. The app uses local and session storage for essential authentication and product functionality. Consent requirements will be reviewed before launch.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the small amount of information we hold, but no service can guarantee absolute security. My Daily Release is not a medical service, not a therapy service, and not a HIPAA-covered entity.
Your choices and deletion
You can use the app without an account. Every release expires on its own. If you have an account, you can permanently delete it yourself from Settings, under Your Account. You can also email MyDailyRelease@gmail.com and we will delete your account and its associated data.
Deleting your account permanently removes your sign-in credentials and your email from our active account system, any release still stored and the record that it belonged to you, your identifiable Hold Space activity and support results, your impressions and claim tokens, and your other account-linked application records. Support you previously gave to other people may remain counted for them, permanently unlinked from you.
The limited record we keep after deletion
After an account is deleted we retain one narrow compliance record. It holds when the account was created, registered or converted, and deleted; which version of the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy was accepted and when; the version and timestamp of the confirmation that the person was 18 or older; how that acceptance was given; fingerprints of the exact policy text in effect at the time; and the record's retention and legal-hold status.
It does not contain your releases, support history, impressions, activity history, password, authentication tokens, IP address, device information, session identifiers, Help messages, profile information, or your email address in readable form. So that we can still find the record if you or a regulator later ask about it, your email address and former account identifier are stored only as one-way protected lookup tokens computed with a secret key held on our servers. They cannot be turned back into an email address.
This record exists only for legal, compliance, and dispute-resolution purposes. We keep it for a provisional period of five years after deletion, after which it is permanently purged automatically, unless a valid legal hold applies. Deleting your account never prevents you from creating a new one later with the same email address; a new account is entirely separate and starts a new acceptance history.
Two limitations apply to any deletion: temporary copies may remain in secured backups until those backups expire, and emails already sent or received may remain in provider logs or inboxes.
Children and age eligibility
My Daily Release is intended only for people 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, please do not use the service, create an account, submit a release, select "With You," or send information through the Help form.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not offer parental consent as a way for anyone under 18 to use the service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information and restrict or terminate the associated account or anonymous session.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that someone under 18 has provided information to My Daily Release, please contact us at MyDailyRelease@gmail.com
Legal and safety disclosures
We do not continuously monitor releases and we cannot respond to emergencies. We may review or disclose information when we believe it is necessary to comply with the law or to address a serious safety concern. If you are in crisis, please see our Safety page.
If we receive a valid preservation request, subpoena, court order, or other documented legal obligation, we may be required to preserve specific information that still exists at that moment, and to keep it beyond the periods described here. Preservation is narrow: it covers only the specifically identified records, which are moved into a restricted area available to authorised legal and compliance staff and removed from the ordinary product. We do not keep an archive of releases in case they are requested later, and once release content has expired or been deleted we no longer have it and cannot recreate it.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. Reach us any time at MyDailyRelease@gmail.com.
