Terms of Use

My Daily Release offers a simple daily ritual through which people may anonymously release a thought, feeling, burden, or experience and offer quiet support to others.

The service may allow you to:

• Submit one release during an eligible daily period.
• Have that release displayed anonymously in the Release Ether.
• Select “With You” to show quiet support for another release.
• Return later to see how many people supported your release.
• Create an account to retain access to eligible support results.

My Daily Release is a social-support experience. It is not a traditional social-media platform. It does not currently provide public profiles, followers, comments, reposting, or direct messaging.

My Daily Release is not a healthcare provider, therapist, counselor, crisis center, emergency service, or substitute for professional care.

The service does not provide:

• Medical or mental-health diagnosis
• Therapy or counseling
• Medical advice
• Crisis intervention
• Emergency monitoring
• A confidential relationship with a licensed professional

Releases are not continuously monitored. Do not rely on My Daily Release to identify an emergency, contact another person, dispatch emergency services, or intervene on your behalf.

If you believe you may harm yourself or someone else, or there is an immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency services.

In the United States and its territories, you may also call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Additional resources are available on our Safety page.

Some features may be available through an anonymous system session. Creating an account may require an email address and password.

Even when you use the service anonymously, the system may assign an internal user identifier so it can operate features such as release limits, ownership, support results, security, and account conversion.

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate account information
• Protecting your password and account access
• Not allowing another person to use your account
• Promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission

You may not sell, transfer, share, or create accounts for another person.

A release submitted to the Release Ether is publicly visible for approximately 24 hours, or until it is removed earlier by My Daily Release.

Although your public release does not display your name, email address, username, profile, or location, you should not treat a release as private or confidential.

Do not include:

• Your full name
• Another person’s middle or last name
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Home or work addresses
• Account numbers
• Social-media handles
• Other details that could identify you or another person

Other people may be able to view, remember, photograph, copy, or capture content while it is publicly displayed. My Daily Release cannot guarantee that another person will not take a screenshot or preserve something outside our systems.

You retain ownership of the original content you submit.

By submitting a release, you give My Daily Release a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, moderate, and remove that content only as reasonably necessary to:

• Operate the Release Ether
• Provide the daily-release and support experience
• Maintain platform safety and security
• Enforce these Terms and Rules & Respect
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

This license does not transfer ownership of your release to My Daily Release.

The license ends when the release is removed from our active systems, except to the limited extent that a temporary copy remains in a provider-managed backup or retention is required for security or legal reasons.

My Daily Release will not use release text:

• In targeted advertising
• To create an advertising profile
• For promotional testimonials without separate permission
• To sell to another company
• To train our own or a third party’s general-purpose artificial-intelligence model

Profanity used to honestly express emotion may be allowed. Profanity or other language directed at another person in a hateful, threatening, sexual, harassing, or abusive way is not allowed.

You may not submit content that:

• Includes another person’s middle or last name or identifying details
• Threatens, encourages, celebrates, or describes plans for physical harm to yourself or another person
• Confesses, promotes, requests, or provides instructions for illegal activity
• Contains hate speech or attacks a person or group based on protected or personal characteristics
• Harasses, threatens, stalks, abuses, exploits, or humiliates another person
• Contains sexual exploitation, sexual threats, or nonconsensual sexual content
• Violates another person’s privacy, confidentiality, publicity, or intellectual-property rights
• Impersonates another person or falsely presents the source of the content
• Contains advertisements, solicitations, spam, scams, or fundraising requests
• Contains malware, harmful code, or links intended to compromise another person or the service
• Violates our Rules & Respect guidelines or applicable law

Our Rules & Respect page is incorporated into these Terms. If there is a conflict, these Terms control.

You may not:

• Use bots, scripts, agents, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated systems to access or interact with the service without written permission
• Copy or collect releases in bulk
• Use releases or other service content to create datasets or train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning systems
• Circumvent release limits, support limits, moderation, rate limits, authentication, or security controls
• Create multiple identities to manipulate support counts or other service behavior
• Attempt to access another user’s account or nonpublic information
• Probe, scan, test, or exploit the service for vulnerabilities without written authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive nonpublic source code
• Interfere with the service, its servers, or its providers
• Use My Daily Release for commercial solicitation or unauthorized advertising
• Use the service for an unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purpose

My Daily Release may review, block, restrict, or remove content that we become aware of and reasonably believe violates these Terms, Rules & Respect, applicable law, or the safety and purpose of the community.

We may also restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the service.

We are not required to:

• Review every release before publication
• Continuously monitor releases
• Preserve a release
• Explain every moderation decision
• Provide advance notice before removing prohibited content
• Intervene in a crisis or dispute

If we become aware of a credible and immediate threat of serious harm, unlawful activity, or a valid legal requirement, we may preserve or disclose available information when reasonably necessary and legally permitted or required. This does not mean that releases are continuously monitored.

My Daily Release is designed so that release text leaves the public Ether and active database after approximately 24 hours, except where a specific release is preserved under the safety and legal preservation provision below.

Temporary copies may remain for a limited period in provider-managed backups before being deleted.

An anonymized support result may remain temporarily after the release text is removed so the writer can see how much support the release received.

The intended timing may occasionally be affected by technical, security, maintenance, or legal requirements. My Daily Release does not guarantee removal at an exact second.

Safety and legal preservation. My Daily Release may remove content that presents serious safety, legal, or community concerns. In limited circumstances, we may preserve a specific release and related records beyond our ordinary deletion period when reasonably necessary for safety, compliance with law, preservation of evidence, or response to valid legal process.

Selecting “With You” is a symbolic expression of human support. It is not professional advice, medical care, crisis intervention, a promise to contact someone, or the creation of a confidential or professional relationship.

Support counts may be adjusted or removed if associated activity appears fraudulent, automated, abusive, or technically invalid.

My Daily Release does not guarantee that a release will receive any particular number of support actions.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, disclosed, and deleted.

By using My Daily Release, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review the Privacy Policy.

Public anonymity does not mean that our systems process no technical or account information. Do not submit content you are unwilling to have displayed publicly during the release period.

Record of your acceptance. When you confirm that you are 18 or older and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy, we record that acceptance electronically: which versions you accepted, when, and how. That confirmation is a representation you make to us, and this record is our evidence of it.

If you delete your account. Deleting your account permanently removes your credentials and your personal activity from the service. We keep only a narrow compliance record of your acceptance and account lifecycle dates for a provisional period of five years, or longer where a legal hold applies. That record contains no release content, no support history, and no readable email address; your email and former account identifier are kept only as one-way protected lookup tokens. The Privacy Policy describes this record in full. You may create a new account with the same email address at any time; it is a separate account with a new acceptance history.

Except for user-submitted release content, My Daily Release and its licensors own the service and its associated:

• Software and source code
• Design and visual presentation
• Text, prompts, and original written content
• Artwork and images
• Logos, names, and branding
• Features and functionality

We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its intended noncommercial purpose while complying with these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of My Daily Release intellectual property to you.

You may voluntarily send ideas, suggestions, corrections, or other feedback.

You give My Daily Release permission to use that feedback without compensation or obligation to you. This section applies to product feedback and suggestions. It does not grant us promotional or commercial rights to your release text.

My Daily Release may link to crisis resources, treatment locators, informational websites, or other third-party services.

A link does not mean that My Daily Release controls, guarantees, or endorses the third party. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices, and you use them at your own discretion.

We hope to keep My Daily Release available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may:

• Add, change, suspend, or remove features
• Perform maintenance
• Correct errors
• Change eligibility or usage limits
• Temporarily restrict access for safety or security
• Discontinue some or all of the service

Where reasonably practical, we will try to communicate material changes.

You may stop using My Daily Release at any time.

You may request account deletion by contacting MyDailyRelease@gmail.com.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access if we reasonably believe that:

• You violated these Terms or Rules & Respect
• Your use creates a safety, security, legal, or operational risk
• Your account is being used fraudulently or without authorization
• We are required to do so by law
• The service or relevant feature is discontinued

Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination — including ownership, disclaimers, liability limitations, and dispute provisions — will remain in effect.

My Daily Release is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not promise or guarantee:

• That the service will always be available, secure, uninterrupted, or error-free
• That using the service will improve your mental health, happiness, mood, relationships, or circumstances
• That a release will receive support
• That other users’ content is accurate, safe, or appropriate
• That anonymous content cannot be copied by another person
• That the service is suitable for a particular medical, therapeutic, or personal purpose

Nothing in these Terms limits a legal right that cannot lawfully be waived.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, My Daily Release will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or connected with your use of, or inability to use, the service.

This includes loss arising from:

• User-submitted content
• Reliance on the service for professional or emergency help
• Unauthorized access to an account
• Service interruptions
• Content copied or preserved by another person
• Decisions made based on the service

To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Daily Release’s total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of:

• The amount you paid directly to My Daily Release during the 12 months before the claim; or
• $100

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, these limitations apply only to the extent legally permitted.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you are responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, or reasonable expenses resulting from:

• Content you unlawfully submit
• Your misuse of the service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of another person’s rights

This does not require you to compensate My Daily Release for conduct for which you are not legally responsible.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, legal proceedings relating to these Terms or the service must be brought in the state or federal courts serving Henrico County, Virginia. You and My Daily Release consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these Terms as the service changes.

The page will show the current Effective Date and Last Updated date. If a change materially affects users’ rights or responsibilities, we may provide additional notice through the service or by email where appropriate.

Continued use after updated Terms become effective means you agree to the updated Terms. When legally required or reasonably appropriate, we may require users to affirmatively accept updated Terms.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Rules & Respect guidelines make up the agreement governing your use of My Daily Release.

If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining portions will continue in effect.

Our failure to enforce a provision immediately does not waive our right to enforce it later.

You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our permission. We may transfer our rights and obligations as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale, or transfer of the service.

Section headings are included for readability and do not change the meaning of these Terms.
